Shortly after my arrival in Southern California, baddog took me to see a vet to get my shots. Even though no fleas were visible on me, the vet’s flea comb revealed that I had a good number of them. They gave me a shot and I started using Advantage Flea Killer immediately. That stuff worked great. I have been using it for 3 1/2 years and never have a flea when the vet checks. I loved Advantage. Then we started visiting other states.
While these states have wide open spaces and lakes and trees and all those neat things we do not have at home, they also have these parasites called ticks. Ticks are really bad for us dogs and people too. I never thought about them and baddog just thought that the Advantage would take care of them. Did not work out that way. On the way home baddog noticed some bumps while petting me. A quick confirmation from Tanya revealed they were ticks. I actually had a bunch of them. We went to the vet up in Lake Tahoe and she got them all out. She also told us about Advantix. It is made by the same people as Advantage, but for a few dollars more it repels and kills ticks, fleas, chewing lice and mosquitoes. It also repels sand flies. So, that is what I use now. If you travel, you have to be prepared for what they have to offer. Like ticks.
Just so you know, I am not getting any extra kibble or anything for telling you this. I just want to help.
